Saint-Constant – A City that Brings Us Together<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Located in the Mont\u00e9r\u00e9gie region and part of the Roussillon RCM, Saint-Constant is a city where life is good. Its population is 29,915, as shown on to the municipality’s website. History of Saint-Constant<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

The first European families settled in Saint-Constant in 1725<\/strong>. Twenty-five years later, in 1750, the parish of C\u00f4te Saint-Pierre was created and a chapel was erected. At the time, these lands belonged to the seigneury of Sault St. Louis. In 1815, Rang Saint-Pierre was known as the “Black Cattle Road,” the route of the cattle traffickers from New York State to Montreal.<\/p>\n

Local administrative structures were created in Saint-Constant in 1845 with the introduction of the parish municipality and the school board. Saint-Constant entered the modern world with the construction of the CN and CP railroads in the last quarter of the 19th<\/sup> century. The electrification of the village will be done around 1918 and the rural electrification will end in 1939. Since the 1950s, the growth of residential construction has allowed Saint-Constant to obtain the status of city in 1973. In 2025, Saint-Constant will celebrate its 300th<\/sup> anniversary<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
